Make vanilla extract


Vanilla beans

Alcohol (vodka or bourbon)

Glass bottle or a Jar with an airtight cover



 Slice the vanilla beans and place them in the glass bottle or jar

Pour a cup of alcohol of your choice (vodka and bourbon are most effective). Vanilla beans should be a quarter to full or fully soaked.

Shake the mixture in the bottle or jar once or twice a week for good sitting.

Wait for 6-8 weeks is your extract is ready for use.

If you want a strong flavor, leave the extract to sit for 6 to 12 months because the longer is sits, the stronger flavor.
